The Game Raising $50,000 Reward for Arkansas Police Officer news

The Game and his oldest son are raising $50,000 for Little Rock police officer Tommy Norman, a white police officer serving the predominantly black community in the Arkansas city.

The effort stems from a conversation the rapper had with his oldest son Harlem about the difference between “good cops and bad ones.” After the talk, Harlem “did his research” and found Norman’s page online. “I was touched by how active he is in the black community where he polices,” the Game wrote on Instagram. After finding Norman online, Harlem launched a GoFundMe page for the officer.

On Norman’s own site, he writes of his mission, “If you can just take two minutes out of the day to go out and make a difference, whether checking on your neighbor if they’re elderly, cutting someone’s grass, or hold the door for someone. It’s really just act of kindness and I think acts of kindness coming from a police officer means that much more to people because that’s not something you’re used to seeing.”

The money raised by the GoFundMe will help Norman better contribute to the community he polices, including “purchasing and delivering items such as snacks, drinks, and toys for him to keep his trunk stocked for the kids.” At press time, the GoFundMe has already raised $44,000 of its $50,000 goal.

The move to strengthen ties between police and the African-American community comes just days after the Game and Snoop Dogg led a peaceful protest to the Los Angeles Police Department headquarters, where the two rappers opened a dialogue with a graduating class of new cadets.

“I have no malice in my heart … or anger toward anyone police officer,” said the Game at a post-protest press conference. “This is a beautiful city that can be one, that was one, that can get back to being one … I want to tell everyone that I love you no matter what race you’re from, where you come from … whoever you are. If you are human being, this is a day of change.”
