The Lonely Island Debut Two Hilarious Songs From 'Popstar' news

The Lonely Island debuted two ridiculous bangers: “I’m So Humble” and “Mona Lisa,” both from the upcoming mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Stopping.

On “I’m So Humble,” Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone reunite with Adam Levine, who appeared with Kendrick Lamar on “YOLO,” off 2013’s Wack Album. On the new song, the Maroon 5 singer croons down-to-earth hooks (“You say I’m a 10, but I’m an eight at best”), while Samberg sings “I guess in away being gracious is my weakness/ People say I’m so unpretentious for a genius.”

On “Mona Lisa,” Samburg’s “Conner 4 Real” sings about a heartbreaking trip to the Louvre: “Mona Lisa, the original basic bitch,” Samberg sings in his falsetto. “Traveled thousands of miles, to see your beautiful smile/ Talk about a bait and switch — you ugly.”

Popstar stars Samberg and is directed by Schaffer and Taccone. The first trailer teased cameos from major music personnel including Levine, Usher, DJ Khaled, Simon Cowell and Joanna Newsom (Samberg’s wife), who plays a mad scientist. The film will also feature many of the Lonely Island’s comedy cohorts, including Bill Hader, Sarah Silverman, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph.
