The Roots' Questlove took to Instagram to announce that the Roots, Bilal and Kimbra have pulled out of the David Bowie tribute concerts Rick Kern/Getty

It seems the David Bowie tribute concerts that are taking place at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall in New York, on Thursday and Friday respectively, will be short a few artists. The RootsQuestlove took to social media to announce that his band, Bilal and Kimbra will not be performing, Pitchfork reports.

The bowing out from the shows seems to stem from an issue with shared equipment. “Mood. I’ve never been so insecure or petty as to deny a fellow musician use of any of my equipment (or my bands equipment – or resources or contacts or knowledge or anything) it angers me when the same courtesy is not reciprocated,” Questlove wrote on Instagram, adding that “keeping a level head” and “not being self-destructive” are things he’s working on.

“But I’m also keeping it true: the Roots/Bilal/Kimbra (with Wendy Melvoin, DD Jackson and Ray Angry) pulled out of these Bowie gigs,” he continued. “We have patience. But, we do not have patience for the #Bitchassness. Enjoy your precious equipment.”

Questlove did not make clear who he was referring to in terms of not wanting to share equipment. A representative for the Bowie tribute concerts was not immediately available for comment.

The tribute concerts will feature Michael Stipe, who performed “The Man Who Sold The World” on Tuesday during The Tonight Show, Pixies, Cat Power, Blondie, Perry Farrell, Jakob Dylan, Ann and Nancy Wilson, and other artists.
