Travi$ Scott Talks 'Birds In the Trap Sing McKnight' and Reveals He's Getting His Own Beats 1 Show news

Travi$ Scott is getting his own station on Beats 1, which he just announced in a sit down with Zane Lowe on Beats 1. The interview comes only days before the rapper is set to make a special announcement regarding this long-awaited album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.

“I want people to really understand who we are and show a different side to me,” Scott told Lowe on the radio. He also opened up about how his new project will be different from Rodeo. “I’ve been working very hard on this album…I feel I attacked it a different way than I did Rodeo,” he said. Of course, he is keeping the guest features under wraps for now, but said there are a lot of people that he had wanted to work with that are on the album. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until his first Beats 1 radio show to learn more. “My album is coming. I’m prob gonna release the date on my show. I feel like it’s a very good body of work.” Though Scott wouldn’t reveal all of the features on the project, he did confirm that a song with Kanye West is coming soon.

During the interview, Scott also teased a free L.A. event that will kick off “BIRD SZN” and will feature an installation by James Turrell, the artist who inspired Drake’s “Hotline Bling” video. Interestingly enough, Scott revealed that he was working on a short film to accompany the album, so there’s a chance the visual might be the big surprise that ties all of these clues together.

Scott’s freshly inked deal with Apple Music means that the streaming giant will likely be the first place we can check out the album when it drops. The company is also noted for debuting exclusive visuals, including music videos for Drake and A$AP Rocky and a tour documentary for Taylor Swift, so it would make sense Apple to have something to do with the film.

Scott’s new deal with Apple Music is already proving to be an incredible move for the rapper who now has a new creative outlet on his own radio show. Stay tuned for the full audio of the interview.
