Troy Ave is a free man–at least for now. The Brooklyn rhymer was released from jail on $500,000 bond on Monday (July 11).

According to the New York Daily News, the B$B leader secured the bond by putting up his mother home in Brooklyn, N.Y. However, there are stipulations that Ave must abide by while he is out on bail.

The 30-year-old rapper must wear an ankle bracelet at all times and he cannot leave New York, a request made by Assistant District Attorney Joshua Steinglass and approved by Justice Ronald Zweibel.

As we previously reported, Troy Ave was indicted on five felony charges in connection to a shootout that took place at Irving Plaza back in May. The rapper was hit with one count of attempted second degree murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Troy Ave’s best friend, Ronald McPhatter, was also killed during the shootout. D.A. Steinglass says the case is still ongoing but it’s also being hampered by Troy Ave not cooperating with investigators.

“What is clear is that the investigation from the outset has been hampered by the defendant who not only fired and removed the weapon from the crime scene, he refused to help in any way [to identify] who killed McPhatter,” said Steinglass.

Troy Ave did go on his Twitter account to announced that he’s out of jail. Read his tweets below.
