New York indie rock group DIIV has canceled their remaining European tour due to an "urgent health issue" Danny Krug

New York indie rock outfit DIIV have canceled their remaining European tour dates, a representative for the band confirmed to Rolling Stone.

“After completing the first half of the tour in the U.K., the band were faced with an urgent health issue,” read a statement issued to promoters. No specifics were given, though the group is reportedly working on rescheduling concerts where possible.

DIIV is still scheduled to tour North America this spring, beginning with a May 7th date at Webster Hall in New York.

DIIV recently released their second album, Is the Is Are, the long-awaited follow-up to their 2012 breakout debut, Oshin. On the record, frontman Zachary Cole Smith openly deals with his struggles with drugs, including a stint in rehab after he was busted with heroin in 2013 while driving with his girlfriend, singer Sky Ferreira, in upstate New York.

“People might say, ‘Oh, you’re just following this classic rock and roll cliché archetype,'” Smith said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “And, yeah, it is a cliché archetype, but there’s a reason for that — drugs are an extremely easy hole to fall into. And for me, taking that period of my life and breaking it down, exploring it… I found it be a really rich and inspiring starting point for the record.”
