Bruno Mars threw an epic dance party for his ‘Saturday Night Live’ musical guest spot, debuting “24K Magic” and “Chunky.”
Eschewing the typical static SNL performances, Mars' "24K Magic" was more of a fluid, full-scale spectacle as the camera followed Mars and his singers down a hallway and into the audience, where he grooved along to his upcoming LP's title track with a bevy of dancers. Mars and company finally made their way onstage, where the Roman numerals "XXIV" awaited the troupe.
Later in the show, Mars premiered "Chunky" for the first time. "Lemme hear you say I'm ready / Girl, you better have your hair weave strapped on tight / Girl, once we get goin', we rollin', we cha cha 'til the morning / So just say alright," Mars crooned on the track. "If you ain't here to party / Take your ass back home."
Mars last appeared on SNL in November 2014, when he performed "Uptown Funk" alongside Mark Ronson.
24K Magic is due out November 18th. Lady Gaga is next up as SNL's musical guest on October 22nd.
