Gwen Stefani‘s new video for “Misery” is like Miss Havisham from Great Expectations meets Bushwick, Brooklyn, as Stefani poses demurely in couture gowns throughout an abandoned warehouse. She’s clearly been sitting pretty in this loft space for so long she has no clue how to get out, so she takes the stairs and the elevator.

The upbeat song has loose strands of samba heard on Stefani’s last No Doubt LP Push and Shove. The percussive style is a safe bet for Stefani, as the music’s trumpeting repetitions suit her unmistakable nasal voice and satisfy her longtime penchant for cheerleader-chanting.

Stefani will be playing “Misery” on her extensive 27-date summer tour in support of new LP This Is What the Truth Feels Like. The trek kicks off July 12th in Mansfield, Massachusetts and wraps August 25th in Vancouver, British Columbia. The singer will be joined by her “Let Me Blow Your Mind” cohort, rapper Eve, who opens for her on the tour.
