DJ-producer Kaskade unites with NYC subway-music heroes and self-described “brasshouse” trio Too Many Zooz on the frenetic “Jorts FTW.” Kaskade’s electronic pulses are given an organic flair via Matt Doe’s trumpet blasts, Leo P.’s grunting baritone sax and David Parks’ clanging percussion.

The track’s goofy music video features clips from vintage adventure-comedy series The Dukes of Hazzard – focusing primarily on Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach) and her famous cut-off jean shorts.

Kaskade tells Rolling Stone that he was blown away by Too Many Zooz after watching one of their viral subway videos.

“This energy they had was ridiculous,” he says. “A few e-mail exchanges later, and we landed in a studio together for a day. We hammered out an idea I had, and that energy I saw on the video was amplified in person, in the studio. It just moves through them. ‘Jorts FTW’ was created from that session, and I am proud of this song. It’s massive. It’s built to work on a dance floor, in a festival, in your car, wherever. This song makes people feel good and there’s nothing to be mad at with that.”

This week, Kaskade released a remix of Alicia Keys’ “In Common” and paid tribute to late fan Colleen Burns on Instagram. The DJ will perform a series of shows at Las Vegas venues Encore Beach Club and XS Nightclub through the end of the summer.
