Kendrick Lamar found himself in Houston, Texas yesterday as the main event and headliner of the annual March Madness Festival. The Compton rapper's set, which took place just ahead of the University of North Carolina vs. Syracuse Final Four game, was simultaneously broadcast on both TBS and TNT while also being live streamed online. With such a large audience tuning in, Lamar apparently decided to break out with something special and performed his song “Untitled 7|Levitate” live for the first time.
“Untitled 7|Levitate” is taken from Lamar's most recent release, untitled.unmastered which he dropped from seemingly out of nowhere last month. As a collection of fully realized demos and outtakes from the sessions that bred the rapper's zeitgeist grabbing album To Pimp a Butterfly, the new release did surprisingly well, even charting for one week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Check out the supercharged performance below.
