Kings of Leon capped off the release of their new album Walls Friday by visiting ‘The Tonight Show’ to perform the LP’s anthemic “Waste a Moment.”
The band's seventh album – the follow-up to 2013's Mechanical Bull and the band's first time working with Coldplay and Mumford & Sons producer Markus Dravs – witnesses the Followill clan entering what they perceive as the "mainstream" while still maintaining their distinctive sound.
"We're trying to change people's perception of [us]," Caleb Followill said the band's new direction in a pre-Walls interview. "We have more depth on this album and more situations where we dipped our toe in before but never committed. Now we're wanting to dive in. I know this is a pop-driven world and what we do isn't necessarily at the top of the heap of music that people are listening to, but I feel like once people discover this album, it’s going to change them."
