During a recent trip to New York, EDM duo Krewella made a pit stop to get a set of matching tattoos. The sisters received their latest ink from Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy, a tattoo artist whose handiwork is featured on everyone from Rihanna to Justin Bieber.
Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf came into Bang Bang‘s studios with a plan for their matching art: They were each prepared to receive half of the yin-yang symbol on their neck, rendered in a paisley style. “One of them is gonna get a positive image and the other’s gonna get a negative,” Bang Bang explains. “When they look at each other, you’ll see both sides.”
The pair are huge fans of tattoos and proudly display ink from various countries. “We like collecting tattoos from around the world,” Jahan says. “It’s like walking around with pieces of art from different people.”
Krewella recently released a new EP, Ammunition. On September 1st, the sisters will kick off their Sweatbox Tour, stopping at intimate venues across the country.
