Ozzy Osbourne and son, Jack, will be “circumnavigating the world” in their upcoming, 10-part History Channel series, Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour. Only problem: Ozzy doesn’t know what “circumnavigating” means. A trailer for the project finds Jack schooling his dad on world history (and vocabulary).
“What do you know about the Mayans?” Jack asks his dad. “They built them pyramids. They lived in the jungle,” responds the Black Sabbath rocker. “They invented nothing,” Jack tells a confused Ozzy. “They invented the concept of ‘nothing.'”
Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour premieres July 27th at 10 p.m. local time. The show will find the duo traveling to iconic destinations like Mount Rushmore, Stonehenge, Roswell, the Jamestown Settlement and Sun Studios. One crucial destination is the Alamo, where Ozzy will make amends for a 1982 incident in which he urinated on the Alamo Cenotaph monument.
“After The Osbournes TV show, my son chose to go behind the camera and he’s got his own company,” Ozzy recently told Rolling Stone. “He said, ‘Would you be interested in doing this show?’ And I went, ‘Oh, great, fine.'”
Ozzy will kick off a string of European dates with Black Sabbath on Monday, June 13th, in Verona, Italy. The metal legends will then launch the final North American leg of their farewell “The End” tour, followed by a headlining set at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest in September. The band recently confirmed that their last-ever concert will be held February 4th, 2017 in their hometown of Birmingham, England.
