Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook had every detail of Wednesday's annual fall key note event ironed out except for a ride. Enter the requisite opening skit for James Corden's runaway hit segment 'Carpool Karaoke.' The Late Late Show host picked up the CEO along with one-time Beats Radio host and musician Pharrell Williams in the backseat for an impromptu singalong.

The trio donned wacky shades while belting out Lynyrd Skynyrd's 1974 classic "Sweet Home Alabama." They switched gears to one of Cook's personal favorites, "I Lived," by OneRepublic. Cook is a self-proclaimed "superfan" of the electronic-tinged pop act.

'Carpool Karaoke' was the ultimate way for Apple to unveil is fall offerings because the company announced it purchased a spinoff of Cordon's series in July. The ramped-up 'Carpool' will make it possible for more celebrities to sit in the hot seat and sing their favorite songs and biggest hits while "helping Corden get to work," as the host frequently signs off with.

Apple's spinoff series of 'Carpool Karaoke' will stream on Apple Music with Late Late Show executive producer Ben Winston and Corden still at the creative helm. The series will be produced by CBS Television Studios and Winston's production company Fulwell 73.
