Watch Schoolboy Q Go Noir With Gritty 'Groovy Tony' Video news

Schoolboy Q has returned with a gritty, noirish new video and single, establishing the character “Groovy Tony” and setting the tone for his as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2014’s Oxymoron.

With both the single and the video, Q references his West Coast, gangsta-rap roots while establishing a menacing, Sin City-esque universe where “Groovy Tony/No-face killa” is king. The dark clip has Q in a lot of demolished cars filled with piles of dead bodies. The rapper roams the remains and is seen shooting off a gun with a mask on. Later, a female accomplice who helps him destroy evidence and run off with bags filled with cash accompanies him.

Late last year, Q reunited with his Black Hippy crewmates Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul. The supergroup hadn’t released a track together since 2012 and all appeared on Rock’s single “Vice City.” Q also made appearances on a pair of songs from different A$AP Mob members, including A$AP Rocky’s “Electric Body” off At. Long. Last. A$AP. and ASAP Ferg’s “Let It Bang.”
