Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, is launching his “Welcome to Freetown” tour tonight at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. And it sounds like it’s going to be a big deal. Not only will the kickoff event mark the British singer’s first full performance of his new album, Freetown Sound, it’ll also be accessible to everyone with an internet connection.
That’s right. Prior to tonight’s sold-out show, it was announced that Blood Orange had struck an exclusive deal with TIDAL, which will livestream tonight’s concert for both members and non-members.
Back in June, Freetown Sound was digitally released three days before its original drop date. It wasn’t until last week that the project, which is his third studio album under the Blood Orange moniker, had a physical release via Domino.
