YG takes a tour through Tokyo in the new video for “Word Is Bond,” the latest cut of the rapper’s recently released ‘Still Brazy.’
YG tours around Tokyo in the new video for "Word Is Bond," the latest cut of the rapper's recently released Still Brazy. The 2Tone-directed video follows YG and guest Slim 400 sightseeing through the Japanese metropolis after performing at Tokyo's Public Labo Block Party earlier in the year.
The video also cleverly uses Japanese subtitles and literal English translations to simplify YG's rhymes. When he says: "I run the left side of the map and that's what it is," a subtitle at the bottom of the screen clarifies it as: "We are from the West Coast of America and that is the truth."
In the video, "Google maps will tell yo ass where its at/ Backseat full of bitches/ You can say a nigga riding with that Mac" becomes "Google Maps will notify you as to my location, the back seat of my car is full of girls and some people might think I have a gun in the car."
"Word Is Bond" arrives just two weeks after YG dropped the video for the title track off his new LP, one of Rolling Stone's 45 Best Albums of 2016 So Far.
