Riot Games released the soaring dance music anthem "Ignite" this week, confirming rumors that it would be collaborating with Grammy award-winning DJ and EDM artist Zedd to commemorate the upcoming 2016 League of Legends World Championship. Though it's already clocking more than three million views on YouTube, the anthem has a tough act to follow: Imagine Dragons' "Warriors" – a fan favorite that's sitting at nearly 60 million views since its debut for 2014's World Championship.

The imagery in "Ignite" is drawn from defining moments of World Championships past, going as far back as 2011, which is ancient history as far as professional League play goes. Among the highlights in the music video is a stirring "Baron steal" by TSM's Brian "TheOddOne" Wyllie in 2013 – a valorous, yet suicidal maneuver that involved sneaking in the final blow on a huge monster as the entire enemy team was in the process of trying to kill it. Elsewhere Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok from South Korea's victorious SK Telecom team is seen making good on a promise made to a fan by feasting on a broccoli floret to celebrate his team's win at last year's championship.

Riot has provided a helpful rundown of all the stories depicted in the three-minute clip.

The 2016 Championship, or "Worlds" as it's known in the community, will kick off on September 29th at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, and then travel to Chicago and New York before the October 29th finals in in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where 16 teams will compete for a prize pool of $2.1 million.
