Willie D vs. Gucci Mane — The Boombox Battle news

Willie D is on fire. For the third consecutive week, he dominated in the Boombox Battle and beat Dave East’s “Bad Boy on Death Row” in last week’s round.

Willie D’s controversial track, “Coon,” slams everyone from Stacey Dash to Charles Barkley. The former Geto Boys rapper is unapologetic about how he feels regarding black celebrities who’ve done pretty much anything for the paycheck — even when it’s something that is offensive to the community.

“If you’re sellin’ out your people you’re a coon / If you hate your own kind you’re a coon / Bootlicker’ shuck and jive you’re a coon / You’re a coon, you’re a coon, you’re a coon / If you’re sellin’ out your people you’re a coon / If you hate your own kind you’re a coon / Sambo died slow your a coon / You’re a coon, you’re a coon, you’re a coon,” he delivers on the hook.

Gucci Mane will take on Willie D this week. Enjoying his freedom from prison, the Guwop King recently released his track, “First Day Out Tha Feds.” With Mike Will Made-It behind the production, Gucci has an effortless flow as he recounts the good and bad in his life as well as his next step. And while the song is three minutes long, Gucci delivers one long verse that not only will make you bounce to the beat but also get a sense of where his head’s at.

“I did some things to some people that was down right evil / Is it karma coming back to me, so much drama / My own mama turned her back on me, and that’s my mama / I lost three people close to me in one summer / Ten years later still don’t know shot up my Hummer / But I bend I don’t break, I don’t ask I take / Black gloves and black tape / N—- it’s my first day,” he raps at the end of his verse.

Who will win this week? Willie D or Gucci Mane? It’s your turn to decide. Vote in the poll below. Remember, you can vote once every hour until Tuesday, June 7 at 10AM EST.
