When copping awesome Star Wars tattoos, location is everything. Thankfully, our guy Zayn Malik knows exactly where to display his apparent Star Wars fandom: the bird finger. Malik tapped ink expert JonBoy for a new glow-in-the-dark tattoo of a lightsaber on his middle finger. JonBoy, who’s also inked masterpieces for Justin Bieber‘s face, revealed the enviable creation on the ‘gram:
That tattoo comes alive when the lights are out, meaning it’s obviously a very worthy and highly recommend investment. But don’t let the playful nature of a glow-in-the-dark lightsaber on Malik’s bird finger fool you. JonBoy takes his craft very seriously. “Words speak volume,” JonBoy told Human Canvases writer Herby Richard Vixamar in December. “So I feel like words are so powerful that people want to get them on their body just as a reminder of who they are or who they were or who they want to become.”
The last time Malik’s ink was hitting the headlines, the Mind of Mine hitmaker was talking to Complex about his favorite ink for his cover story. “I’ve got a couple of Arabic writing tattoos and nobody knows what they mean,” Malik told Complex when asked which tattoos meant the most to him. “[They’re] just for myself. That’s why I wrote them in Arabic. Obviously some people can read Arabic, but the tattoos are in places that people won’t necessarily see.”
With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story fast approaching, the time is right for all of us to follow Zayn’s lead and just get that glow-in-the-dark Luke Skywalker tattoo on our foreheads already.
JonBoy did not immediately respond to Complex’s request for comment.
